We are currently looking to hire an ambitious Baker/Baker Associate.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has an interest in learning traditional European-style sourdough breads and pastries, including mixing/shaping high hydration doughs.
At EBL all of our team members are encouraged to explore their creative passions with food and breads.
To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful and confident team-member, helping develop our production and menu.
Clear and precise communications is a must.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Summary of Key Responsibilities Mixing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and viennoiserie.
Provide quality baked goods consistently by adhering to recipe/formula & presentation standards.
Assist in gathering ingredients to measure/mix; operate ovens, grills, proofer/retarder boxes; and keep work surfaces and equipment clean and sanitary.
Strictly adhere to food safety laws and standards while preparing bakery products, including maintaining and sanitizing baking utensils, tools and implements.
Acts with integrity, honesty that promote the culture, mission and values of EBL.
Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high production to keep EBL operating consistently at a high standard.
Affectively communicate information to head baker and staff.
Preferred Experience Prior experience in a production bakery; or education (formal or self-taught) in pastries, sourdough breads, or fermentation sciences are desirable.
Basic Qualifications Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Meet and adhere to operating policies and standards.
Able to follow safety and operational procedures to avoid burns and other injuries while working with equipment, physically able to stand for extended periods.
Able to lift and move heavy items and equipment, including sacks of flour (50 Lbs.
).
Able to measure and weigh flour/ingredients (i.
e.
, basic math calculations, baker's percentage).
Ability to learn quickly; to comprehend and execute oral/written instructions and request clarification as needed; attention to detail, and to work as part of a team.
